Mission Viejo
Located in hilly southern Orange County, Mission Viejo was primarily used as grazing land for sheep and cattle. Deemed undevelopable in the 1960s, Mission Viejo was one of the last areas in Orange County to be urbanized. The suburban city is now mainly residential, with houses and shopping centers designed in a Spanish mission style. Lake Mission Viejo, a man-made lake at the center of the city, offers residents custom waterfront homes and condominiums. The tree-lined neighborhoods are speckled with parks every square mile, making Mission Viejo the perfect place to raise a family.
